Tax issues

Unexpected tax liabilities on funds transfers to the UK

If you are not UK domiciled, it is important that you check with your advisers to ensure that sending money back to the UK does not incur a tax liability. This can occur if for example you are or become resident in the UK, and you "remit" income which if left outside the UK would have remained free of UK tax. The problem can usually be solved by restructuring your bank accounts before you make the funds transfers.

Emigrating overseas, even to Europe, can have significant tax issues, particularly if you are retiring.
